Classic anime ‘Gundam’ is coming to Netflix in June

The original Mobile Suit Gundam film trilogy and Gundam: Char’s Counterattack are coming to Netflix in June, so there’s no excuse not to watch these classic animes.

Specifically, Mobile Suit Gundam I, Mobile Suit Gundam II: Soldiers of Sorrow, Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space and Gundam: Char’s Counterattack will finally be available on Netflix on June 18.

I have previously reviewed the Blu-ray versions of the original film trilogy and Char Counterattack, and they all come highly recommended.

In addition, if you are new to Gundam then starting with the original film trilogy is probably one of the best places to start.

These films also cover much of the story arc between Amuro radius and Char Aznable, which forms the narrative backbone of most Universal century chronology.

If you are interested in the creative story behind Gundam and these films, so be sure to check out my interviews with Yoshiyuki Tomino, Kunio Okawara and Yutaka Izubuchi.

So if you’ve never seen one Gundam and have been curious about all that surrounds this long-running anime franchise, then Netflix has you covered in June.
