Westerns seem to be on the rise in Hollywood as more films and series narrated through this genre are enlightened.
Whether a modern take like Concrete cowboy or the CW Walker, or a traditional western like The more they fall Where The power of the dog, they’re starting to carve out a place for themselves in mainstream pop culture.
If you’ve started to fall in love with the genre or have long held a special place for western fiction in the media you consume, then you’ll want to check out the next western drama,1883.
The series is a spin-off of Yellowstone, a show with Kevin Costner that follows the Dutton family. The Duttons own the largest ranch in Montana and are in conflict with real estate developers, Yellowstone National Park, and a Native American reservation that borders their lands.
1883 looks back over two hundred years before the original series in a prequel that chronicles how the Duttons settled in Montana. Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Isabel May and LaMonica Garrett are the stars of the series. Tom Hanks, Graham Greene and Billy Bob Thornton will be the guests.
