MEDFORD, Ore – A local cyclist donates around 200 helmets to children in partnership with Familia Unida.
The event will take place at the Youth71 fire station located on 8 and Lincoln on Saturday. Each family will be limited to one helmet per child.
Brian Stewart, who is the event’s organizer, said he wanted the kids to ride safely after suffering a head injury years ago.
“I didn’t want anyone to have a reason their kid didn’t have headphones,” Brian Stewart, event organizer, told NBC5. “That way I can make a difference, see how many helmets I can put on children’s heads.”
