THE NRL have nailed their new advertising campaign by launching a low-budget production celebrating rugby league’s greatest asset – its superstar players.

Dally M medalist Tom Trbojevic, NSW State of Origin captain James Tedesco, Queensland captain Daly Cherry-Evans, Bulldogs new signing Josh Addo-Carr and NRLW star Jess Sergis all feature in an ad focused on celebrating the action on the pitch.

Rolling with the slogan “Unreal”, the new ad campaign is expected to be a winner with fans and will be released nationwide today.

“The theme of our marketing for the 2022 season is to celebrate all the authentic and real moments that exist in rugby league,” said NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo.

“From junior participation to grand final glory. Our players, the communities they represent, the adversity our clubs and athletes face and, above all, the authenticity of our fans.

“Our game is really real and that’s what makes rugby league unreal.

“2020 was the year the game led the return of the pandemic, 2021 was the year we moved for the first time in our history and 2022 will be our biggest yet with a premiership. NRL, two NRLW Premiers, State of Origin and World Cups at the end of the year.

“This campaign combines youth participation with elite play and we will continue to integrate grassroots rugby league into all of our major events throughout the season.”
