Tammy Slaton’s doctors and family have asked her to be more consistent with her exercise program. Sadly, Tammy fought the advice of her support system all the time. In the next episode of 1000-pound sisters, it looks like Tammy is making some progress. With the help of her home nurse, Tisa, Tammy heads to the public swimming pool to participate in an aqua aerobics class. While Tammy seems to be enjoying her class, she and Tisa share a few words that send Tammy into one of her temper tantrums. Read on to find out why Tammy floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee.
Tammy Slaton walks to the pool
In previous episodes, we’ve seen Amy Halterman and her sister, Tammy Slaton visit their local swimming pool to get some exercise. While the two always seem to be having fun, Tammy tended to have a bit more trouble with the movements than Amy. She also had to struggle to get in and out of the pool.
In the adventure filmed for the series, Tammy does not have Amy by her side, but rather her caregiver, Tisa. At first, Tammy seems to be in a good mood. She is happy and motivated to enter the pool. She walked all the way inside the facility and made her way down the steps to the pool without assistance.
While in the water, Tammy and Tisa participate in an aqua aerobics class organized for older people in the area. While Tisa actively participates and encourages Tammy to join her, Tammy plays in the pool. People sitting around the pool actively watch the over 600-pound woman who defiantly plays like a toddler, floating on her back and diving underwater. Her nurse scolds her softly for not listening to the instructor. She makes no effort to try to do the exercises. Tisa punches Tammy in a separate interview, joking that the older ladies move more than the younger one by the pool.
Tammy throws a tantrum
After class is over, Tisa tells Tammy it’s time to go. Tammy manages to climb the stairs using the railing and pull herself out of the pool. She walks several meters to a bench before sitting down. Tisa offers to wear her shoes so they can both walk to the car. Tammy, however, doesn’t care much about the idea. Tammy decides she doesn’t want to walk anymore, resorting to an apology.
“I can’t walk back there, the ground is wet,” Tammy Slaton said neutrally. Tisa refutes, reminding Tammy that she has come back from the pool several times before. The stern nurse also reminds her that the floor was also wet at the time.
Immediately, Tammy begins to moan like a small child. “And I was very careful,” she said. Tisa shakes her head. Fortunately, the nurse Amy Halterman chose for her sister does a decent job without giving in to Tammy Slaton. She tells Tammy that she can also be careful now. She knows that if Tammy can take the walk once, she can do it again.
Tisa picks up Tammy’s walker and puts it in front of her. She stands up then, patiently waiting for Tammy to move. Later, during an interview, Tisa told the camera that “if Tammy had what she wanted” she would push her in her pool wheelchair through the facility and return to the car.
Finally, after crying once more that she wouldn’t walk and Tisa continued to hold on, refusing to take the chair, Tammy stands up. While it’s understandable that Tammy is tired of swimming, doctors have told her that if she doesn’t push herself, she won’t lose weight. Fortunately, Tisa pushes Tammy away, not letting her do what she wants. This tension is likely to lead to head shots for the remainder of the season. Fans, however, are hopeful that Tisa stays. Many are optimistic that she will have a positive impact on Tammy.
